The government can handle sending out millions of dollars in checks but can't handle mail in voting during a pandemic?

There is no way checks would be in peoples bank accounts by election day. Just no way. It's 4 weeks away.
I think there's a pretty sizable chance McConnell just blocks it completely and torches the place on the way out. Sees the writing on the wall. No reason to placate a candidate that's going to lose the election.
Look at that internal lip biting he's doing, trying to hide his nervous tics as he lies.
Damn, man, at least get good at lying if you're going to work for an administration that requires it.
Fuck why we got so many explosive trees here?! Thanks Obama
WTB: Austrian Exploding Tree
So you think the democrats should just continue being pussies while the GOP just walks all over them while doing whatever the fuck they want?
If the dems control the legislative and executive branches they should make the republicans understand that "voter mandate" is a two way street. Maybe then the dems could actually get progressives on board without "vote blue no matter who" bullshit.
Trust me, if the shoe were on the other foot the republicans wouldn't hesitate for a second. They keep their base fired up and turning out to polls by forcing results, even if they're in the minority.
right except the shoe has been on the other foot and Republicans haven't done that, no one has done that, in 151 years and 'being pussies' is not how we got here, Democrats destroying the Senate cloture rules that had survived since 1917 to confirm federal appointments with partisan majorities of 50%+1 with their invocation of the nuclear option in 2013 is how we got here.
this is recent history yet people latch onto the 'Democrats are pussies & Republicans are bullies' narrative like their wives depended on it.
Mitch is the fucking worst but he did warn em
don't worry i'm sure this time will be different and the next batch of Republican leadership won't go full Revenge of the Sith mode when they get the chance to pack the Court
Again, you seem to be of the mindset that current Republicans care about how things have historically been. All of the GOP voters that I know absolutely revel in "owning libs", with no concern whatsoever for what tactics were used to do it. The reality in current American politics is that if the Democrats want anything done, they have to be willing to play the same games as the GOP. They can't just keep comprising everything while they're in power and crying and acting shocked when the GOP does something unprecedented.
The current conservative mindset isn't a product of the Trump presidency, it's the other way around.
At the very least, another reason to hope Trump doesn’t remain President. If he does, I’d be willing to be good money he’d take this idea and run with it; he’d try to pack the court with more conservative justices. Because, why not?
yes invoking the nuclear option was certainly indicative of their unfailingly willingness to compromise
what you seem incapable of comprehending is the Democrats already play the same games, indeed they sometimes play dirtier games that violate precedent worse, and the last time they escalated in such a manner it resulted in disaster when the Republicans regained power. and what you are now all speaking of and desiring is another short-sighted escalation. Republicans were not the ones to destroy cloture rules for federal appointments. Republicans are not the ones talking about packing the Court (nor did they despite losing a rash of SCOTUS decisions that resonated deeply within their heart's core including Roe v Wade).
If you want to look at history for what the dems should do, look at the New Deal. They pushed it hard over heavy republican objection, and now it's all stuff that's so popular that conservatives can't really touch it. Pass laws that the Republicans have demonized to scare people away from so that the public can see the lie for what it is.
