White people were the first to industrialize, which on net dramatically improved human QoL. They captured a lot of the value created by this process by exploiting societies that they had a technological edge over, as was done for all of history up until the US' decision to be relatively benevolent hegemons in literally the 1950s.

That Europeans came out on top can only rationally be seen as a fluke of history. So many societies had come so close to the technologies involved in the industrial revolution in the past and diverged into some kind of dark age instead of going across the finish line. It could have been China, Africa, the middle east, etc. Europeans just got lucky.

If we want to continue the trend set by 20th century USA and really embrace that truth, we should have some kind of international luck-egalitarian solution where european nations pay reparations to the countries they pillaged (and USA reparations to slaves, etc.) This would also be unheard of in human history, but it would be morally the right thing to do.
