LMPD Major Bridget Hallahan sent out an email to her fellow officers saying that BLM and Antifa protesters will be washing their cars and servicing them at Walmart. Also said they no integrity. She also announced her retirement in the email. Since the news broke, the Department relived her of duty immediately.

I wouldn't be saying ACAB if there was even a single noteworthy indecent of police whistleblowing to speak of. They can pretty quickly stop being all bastards if they start reporting the bastards. But they don't do it. Literally never.

Logic fail. The protesters having bad actors take advantage of circumstances leading to situations they can't control isn't comparable to our police system, which is organized to protect bad actors and punish whistle-blowers.

He did say single noteworthy instance. If all the whistle-blowers are erased and pushed into obscurity then it's not noteworthy. Noteworthy would be whistle-blowers actually being able to enact change when they come forward. So people never come forward because whats the point and thus they enable shitty people to continue being shitty and if you standby while people abuse their power and positions, you're complicit and no better than them and thus.... I can understand your stance here, but it seems to me like the system is bad not >every< individual cops who are caught in it then? You're (Read: not YOU singular, you in general terms) focusing all your hate and blame on the individuals when the problem is systemic. The good cops have no power to change these systems in place anymore than you or I do on an individual level, the amount of Whistle-blowers fired or punished is proof of this.

Cops can't fix Cops by just calling out the bad Cops when you yourself admit the system itself protects bad cops. Change has to come from the top down and your rank-and-file Cops have every bit as much control of the "Top" as a McDonalds Cook has over Corporate management. its not how it works. If I were a "Good Cop", I'd be begrudgingly content trying to make a positive change in the community by doing my job well and letting my voice be heard through voting in people that can make the changes I can't from the top of command.

You could argue that if enough "Good cops" said "Enough is enough" and stood up for change, we could see some shit happen... and I do kinda agree, but the same could be said for a lot of things in this world that never happen. Regardless, I rightly have no defense for this kind of thing other than human nature to leave well enough alone and wait for change, as almost everyone does. As most of us are doing right now even if we show support for the changes we personally want to see.

Plus, its worth noting, not everyone has the same idea on how to proceed with change.

the fact that they can logically asses different situations is real. Ruling out ridiculous solutions to terrible problems is also great. They’re doing a hell of a lot better than a majority of media proponents.
