How about you dont just shoot someone in your hime without you know making any attempt to grasp the situation?

I get that people want justice and reforms but a lot of you guys have spent the last 3 months holding your ears and refusing hold bad actors on the other side responsible regardless of evidence.

Or there exists a double standard where someone can apparently have a right to self defense if they're not a minority.

Nah it's probably what you said.

This only exists in an assumption where if the individual was white the scenario would’ve ended differently. And I don’t think that’s true. If you think so I feel bad you’re so jaded.

This who fiasco is just a series of terrible decisions by everyone involved and to pretend the man who shot at an intruder without even taking a moment to ascertain if he was in danger is somehow not part of everyone is fucking asanine.

like even if you're buying your shit from a student on campus; that kid bought his shit from a guy, that bought his shit from a guy, that bought his shit from a guy that's in a crime syndicate of some ethnicity.... that's who's making/growing that shit in bulk lol

And that being said I don’t think I would even get behind an All Drug Dealers are Bastards take. Regardless of what they enable.

You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

Well, I kinda hold the one that's actually trained for this scenario. And look, I absolutely want gun reform. I fucking don't want guns at all. But the same "Blue Lives Matter" people are the same people who think anyone and everyone should be packing.

When I say not that serious, I mean not that serious you have to kill a sleeping woman over a rumor of it, not that I don't think we should be doing something about it.

It's the "We have to get it NOW" attitude that I think is causing a lot of these issues with the cops. Paired with poor training.

Except there wasn’t a “rumor” of there being drugs in this scenario. Judges don’t issue warrants over rumors. There has to be a pretty damn good reason to serve a warrant. Not a rumor. From what I saw in the timeline there were several police stakeouts in that location.

So you're telling me that if someone breaks down your door you're going to waste time trying to access the situation instead of instinctively defending yourself? In what situation would someone breaking down your door not be considered a threat? And let's ignore "but they announced themselves" because either they didn't or they did and weren't heard.

From what I read from a WaPo article, Breonna and her bf had concerns about her ex so I don't find the bf's reaction to be out of line. I also don't find the officers to be out of line since they were put in a shitty situation and forced to defend themselves because of it. I agree with others that the repercussions should have been on the higher ups that put this all together. Too many lives (civilian and officers) were put at risk over something that should have been handled much better.

Wasn't there something about drugs being mailed to her house but the USPS said that wasn't true?

    Yep

    https://www.wdrb.com/in-depth/louisv...341bd2866.html

But Tony Gooden said a different law enforcement agency asked his office in January to investigate whether Taylor's home was receiving any potentially suspicious mail. After looking into the request, he said, the local office concluded that it wasn't.

"There's no packages of interest going there," he said in an interview after WDRB News contacted him Friday.

Louisville Metro Police shot and killed Taylor, an emergency room tech and former EMT, during an early morning raid March 13. The shooting of Taylor, a black woman, has drawn national scrutiny and calls for an independent probe.

Gooden's disclosure raises new questions about the Louisville police department's justification for a warrant that allowed officers to enter the Springfield Drive apartment without knocking or identifying themselves — and why her home was even targeted.
It doesn't say in the part I quoted but Tony Gooden is a U.S. postal inspector in Louisville

A day before the raid, a detective asked a judge to approve the warrant in part because he claimed a postal inspector verified that Glover was using Taylor's home to receive parcels, the affidavit says.

It is "possible" that Louisville police asked a mail inspector from another jurisdiction of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service for help, Gooden said, but he said his office almost surely would have been notified of an outside agent's involvement.

That didn't happen, he said. If a postal inspector from another agency did review packages at Taylor's apartment without notifying him, it would be innappropriate.

"They are coming into my area of responsibility looking into something that I very well may also be looking into," Gooden said. "They shouldn't come into my area of responsibility doing anything without notifying me."

Police claimed Glover was using Taylor's address as his home address and was seen picking up a package from her apartment on January 16 before driving to a "known drug house," according to an affidavit for the warrant approved on March 12.
So there wasn't a rumour. The cops just lied ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    Another informative article: https://www.thecut.com/2020/09/breon...t-we-know.html

On May 22, county prosecutor Tom Wine held a press conference in which he played audio from Walker’s police interrogation. Walker said that “there was a loud bang at the door,” but no one said they were police. Walker said Taylor asked multiple times “at the top of her lungs,” “Who is it?” “Nobody announced themselves or anything,” Walker says in the audio. “If I would have heard at the door, ‘It’s the police,’ it changes the whole situation. There’s nothing for us to be scared of … We could have opened the door like, ‘What’s the problem, what’s going on?’ … The only reason I had the gun was because we didn’t know who it was, if we knew who it was that would have never happened.”
So let's summarize what happened, and by all means, if I'm incorrect, someone please correct me

-Cops staked out BT's place because she used to date a drug dealer but weren't finding anything substantial
-Cops asked USPS to investigate the packages she was receiving, USPS said it had nothing to do with the drug dealer they were going after
    -Cops arrest drug dealer
-Cops lie to judge, get no-knock warrant to BT's place
-Cops claim to have knocked and announced their presence, only for 1 person to claim they had heard it after they interviewed him a bunch of times and made sure 'he was remembering things properly'
-BT herself calls out, asking who's entering her apartment, the cops don't respond at all
-BT's BF, not hearing the supposed initial announcement of the presence of cops, let alone not having received any response to who was entering their apartment, fired at what he thought were burglars entering their apartment
-The cops in response, instead of backing off to safety, securing the perimeter to prevent anyone from entering or escaping, using megaphones to communicate with the shooter, you know, all the shit they spend 6 whole months training to do, instead go guns ablazing and kill an innocent woman by shooting her 8 times, and then arrest her boyfriend for attempted murder
-The cops find nothing illegal in her apartment
-A bunch of months pass and only 1 cop is charged for firing bullets at a wall

    Did I miss anything?

Edit: That second article is a doozy, The Taylor family attorney is claiming Glover, the drug dealer, was only initially targeted by police because he was getting in the way of the city gentrifying that neighbourhood. Fucking Jeff Bezos and Wholefoods at it again

An LMPD officer instructed militia members attending the Breonna protests where they could stand and the areas they had free reign to so they could avoid arrest.

All these cop bootlickers are dumb and the cops are 100% at fault and should be fired and charged. If someone is shooting at you then why would you attempt to press forward towards that person or return fire when you're in a populated building and don't know what's beyond your target. Literally one of the biggest gun safety rules: know your target and what lies beyond it. All cops want their action hero sequence to feel like a badass because American society has elevated them such an infallible position.
