In addendum only twice in history (of modern polling) has a candidate with similar or greater support underperformed on election day.
It's usually quite significantly the opposite.

Almost every early voting site in the heavily pro-Trump neighborhoods in S. FL that I've driven past have a group of Trumpers waving his flags and the thin blue line while yelling at people driving by and those waiting in line. Bonus points for the ones waving the Cuban or Confederate flag.

the only reason i am somewhat hopeful trump will actually lose is because he’s getting crushed in polls among seniors, a group he polled well in last cycle, and a group that actually shows up to vote, and there be lots of seniors in florida or so the memes tell me
