It's going to be a one-night thing because either Biden wins in such a blow out that they can call it early or the votes never get counted because Trump wins through the courts.

I recommend reading this Atlantic article. It's not a guarantee that Trump can win if this is dragged out; there are multiple scenarios where he loses. It's moreso he will cast doubt on the legitimacy of the election and use that ambiguity to cause havoc.
