Fox projects Biden wins Nebraska's 2nd district, removing the 269-269 tie possibility.
ABC calling Montana for Trump
Greg Gianforte, the Republican most famous for choke-slamming reporter Ben Jacobs during his 2016 House race, just won the governorship of Montana (currently held by Democrat Steve Bullock, who is running for Senate)
what is gained by certain states not counting mail in votes until after election day votes, seems horribly inefficient
If Biden wins NE2, Nevada, Arizona, PA, Minnesota, and Wisconsin then he is the president.
Senate and House look bad, though. It seems likely that Republicans will retain control over at least one branch of government. That is actually borderline reassuring to me. The powers that be prefer competent bureaucracy mixed with political stalemate and a degregulatory court system, so maybe they won't fund tons of lawsuits that cause court injunctions on mail-in ballot counting in PA and Wisconsin and drag it out past the certification deadline.
Also, I woke up after less than a REM cycle so this doesn't count.
Senate looks very bad btw, Bullock has fallen behind Daines in Montana, Dems are very likely going to be stuck at 49 seats pending the Georgia runoffs. Fucking nightmare.
Oh for sure. Right now we are playing with fire, though, and the choice is between 4 more years like the last 4 and 4 like second term Obama.
Idk about you guys, but I will take second term Obama gridlock with competent management over first term Trump burn down the house with everyone still inside.
Obviously not the result I was looking for, but Americans are apparently idiots.
Oh definitely. Trump has shown there's plenty you can do (or at least try) simply via executive order. Simply being able to sign away lost of the fuckery of the last four years via EO is big.
Also replacing Ajit Pai is worth its weight in gold. And Barr. It's a long list. Lots to do even if the senate tries for gridlock.
Will a Republican Senate even take up Biden's cabinet nominees for a vote?
Prolly not, but fortunately Trump left a roadmap for how to get through 4 years using almost exclusively Actings
CNN projecting Montana to Trump
Georgia keeps counting, up to 90% now. Biden's at +0.3, 59% chance to win prediction on the needle, down 2.5% in the vote count only now.
