Chicago started early voting on Oct 1 but limited to the super-site in the downtown Loop. However, the 50 ward polling stations should be open Oct 14 for early voting. I haven't seen photos of the super site lines, but in 2018 they used to wrap the block as office workers crowded the sidewalks during lunch hours and after work. I'll probably test my luck with the local ward station which has always been a quick in-and-out for me in the past.

When I voted last month, there was three super sites in St Paul + metro area. Not sure How many Minneapolis had. There is a lot more local ones now. Waited in line for roughly an hour and a half.

We ended up going with the mail in ballot, but we filled it out and then just took it up to the township to hand it in person. Watching last week tonight and they went over the guy who waited in line for almost 8 hours.

Got my mail in ballot. Waiting on my dad's ballot though. Drop off box is at the park across the street. Could also drive to the library and use that drop off box as well.
Also in my part of LA but I didn't have this issue. About 2000 ballots that were mailed out are missing the page to vote for the federal races. The LA county registrar/County clerk's office will mail out new ballots and void the erroneous ballots if they were already submitted.
