So as for you first point there I think the Ifrit that attacks phoenix is a dark version of Ifrit, it actually mentions that in the Clive's bio on the website. So it's come kind of copy. Also I don't know for sure cause they haven't named him but I think the guy in the red at the beginning is Clive and Joshua's father, and the guy who talks about the blight several times. If that is the case it's very interesting given that the dude gets decapitated in the first trailer by what seems to be one of his own soldiers. I didn't recognize him before this trailer came out since it's just a quick glance, but this trailer had him in the same armor and it's definitely him.
I can't believe it. It's been like 22 years. They're finally making another good Final Fantasy. It all looks so wonderful -- lore, world, graphics, story, sound, combat, UI. We've waited so long. This already feels cathartic.
Titan's Dominant is a huge and buff dude but I'll never take him seriously now after learning his name is Hugo Kupka - which in Polish translates to Hugo Poop
Still not wild on the action combat infestation of the series, but basically getting a hodgepodge vibe of FF, DMC/Bayonetta, and Attack on Titan. Who knows, maybe I'll find a PS5 by next year.
Id also offer the potential that there are artificial crystals (like manufacted nethicite in XII), dark crystals (given Yoshi-P's penchant for borrowing elements from previous titles and refining them), or even crystals that once existed in XVI's timeline, have been destroyed/shattered, but still have a bloodline attachment to their Eikon.
Beneditka's profile also mentions her search for the second Eikon of Fire. Maybe the populace assumed it was Ifrit and Phoenix, but are surprised to discover there was a Dark Ifrit all along. The tagline of "the legacy of the crystals has shaped our history long enough" leads more toward a story of rebellion and tearing some customs down, but the story presented so far leans more into it being reactionary to events than inflicting change directly.
Game looks like it might finally dethrone FFXII as best FF for me.
Oh you done it now
Inc flame wars about best FF
How the fuck did I not know about this trailer til right now!?
Game looks fucking amazing and the fact it's technically playable from start to finish, and everything moving forward is just polish!? Let's fucking go! In Yoshi-P We Trust!

If there was ever a time for cryo sleep this was it, goddamn I am so hype for a game as I haven't been in a long time*
Spoiler: show
I'm so glad they're finally stepping away from the ugly FF10/13/15 J-Pop style, but I reiterate everyone's basic concern that the battle system just looks like a dumb hack-and-slash. Hopefully the story is good and actually sensible and not just endless elaborate fantasy jargon layered onto symbolism.
Everyone's concern? Other than the masses on social media I think most of us here are quite excited to find out what the DMC guy comes up with
JRPG purists are the only ones concerned.
FF is my fav thing ever and I'm hype as fuck about this new direction
ATB, Menu, Action, shit doesn't really matter so long as there's combat depth, tons of customization for playstyle builds, and lots of side/bonus/endgame content.
BG seems to have a ton of DMC fans though so I wouldn’t be surprised if it is a huge concern for the JRPG purists as well as FF casuals. Ya know what I mean?
The rest of us here can’t wait to go currrrazzzzzzzy with it lol.
