One of my buddies just bought a Series X cause Microsoft is running some payment plan deal with a bunch of retailers like Best Buy, Target, Walmart. I think you put down $100 and then pay like $20 a month for two years but you also get Xbox live and Game Pass with it. He’s never getting a ps5 now lol

A Series X is like 1/3 the cost of a PC capable of equivalent performance. Also much easier to find than a GPU.

Yes, thats thats $500 more than a series X. Ignoring the fact that you can do a lot more things with a computer than you can do with an xbox, most importantly for someone who's this poor: can you find any xbox games on the high seas? I dont see any on my sites, but even if they're out there, you'd still need a computer to get them.


Of course, if that person will just play CoD until their controller is all faded down and their disk no longer works (if not digital version), then thats a different story. But then that person is spending $600 on one game. Which is a good RoI if they wind up playing it for 2+ hours a day every day for like 5 years.

edit: I forgot the cost of xbox gold, needed to play games online, for the low cost of 70/yr. Or they can go for game pass ultimate at $17/month. But does someone on that tight of a budget have $17/month to spare?

I know that's canadian dollars, but any MSI desktop I wouldn't say is decent. 11th gen Intel was atrocious to begin with, and MSI thermals on their prebuilts are near alienware awful. A 3050 is maybe an adequate 1080p system, but I'd rather save a few coins by just having a Microcenter (or whatever your local mom and pop pc parts dealer shop) build it for me after picking out all the parts and get something better for that price or cheaper.

Gamepass ultimate is also super easy to cheese. Wait till there is a deal on xbox gold subscriptions, get one month of Ultimate, load up a ton of XBLG cards and they get converted 1 to 1 to ultimate. Common for people to do 3 years for what would normally be 1 year of Ultimate on it's own.
