Looks flashy and neat but wow are there a lot of elements that just take the player out of the equation, ah yes I want to hammer the square button to 1 shot the boss now because I finally did enough chip damage to push the boss into that HP gate. Zzzz.

NGL, I really hate the "lets make an full-fledged action game.. now here's a bunch of ways to let the game play itself" motif that they always seem to go with.

Honestly, I'm just not seeing it. Skimming through that 27 minute video again, I only counted 2 times that they showed you spamming the square button, and it was like, mid-fight, didn't defeat the bosses, just a moment to make the fight momentarily more flashy before jumping back into the action. Everything else was just normal fighting save for that Phoenix vs Bahamut bit

Even the accessories that help with dodging or fighting or etc aren't mandatory. If you don't like that shit, just don't equip them? They literally say they're only there for players who want to focus moreso on the story and not the gameplay

Not only that but Dragon Quest has been letting you let the game play itself for years now.
