That would be quite an achievement in today's climate
The man knows his audience.
Looks like they're keeping true to their promise of taking a longer time to produce games so that they can be more polished in that case. Their new strategy is increasing subscribers to their MMOs, and then taking a longer time to produce single-player games so that they can be released with higher quality, starting with FFXVI.
The abomination of the Chrono Cross remaster and stuff like Babylon's Fall was only a year ago, and Forspoken was only a few months ago. They've been spitting out a lot of bad stuff recently
Aren't they still planning on doing a punch of shit with NFTs that they funded by selling off Crystal Dynamics?
Cause NFTs and high quality gaming don't really go hand in hand
No official project has been announced, yet there were some PowerPoint slides a while ago of how they plan to monetize and work in NFTs, which, as expected, looked like a nightmare and also made no sense.
Did you miss that one?

PlayAsia briefly had the FF16 DualSense available in their US storefront today. Sold out in about 18 minutes. Not shipping to anyone til after the game is out next month, but folks are already listing their preordered controllers on ebay for +$140.
In other news, Soken said his OST has 215 tracks, hence the 8 discs. IIRC Uematsu used to compose about 150 tracks per title and 80~120 made it into a game. They were churning out a title every 1-3 years for awhile there, but still gives some insight on the colossal size of this game.
Oh boy. I only want the PS5 plates but I imagine it's gonna have similar issues.
