Reviews seem pretty good across the board. The story seems hit or miss depending on the person playing but with final fantasy that's to be expected. Everyone seems to be raving about the gameplay though.

The store I ordered from usually has it delivered by around 1-2 PM on release day. Not long now, I plan to leave work as soon as it arrives in my mailbox.
To be fair, I work from home so don't really need to "leave" work.

I took my entire week off (my week is Friday-Tuesday) for this, the next 8 hours are just gonna crawl by though. I've been so hyped for this game I couldn't even finish TOTK, and I haven't delved as big into SF6 and D4 as this waiting in the wings was just killing my motivation for those games. And of course right after I get through with this now Trails into Reverie will be out, what a sick year.

I ordered the CE and the SE Store, as usual, shit the bed. Won't get mine until Monday. You'd think for 400 bucks they'd have been more careful to ship, idk, last week.
Guess I could buy a separate digital copy and rehome the one coming in the CE.

Buy CE and then buy digital to beat the problems, its the way I go about it every time. If I'm gonna put up that kind of money a little more wont hurt. Then the physical copy goes into the sealed copy drawer with the rest of the CE games I bought.

I don't really pay too much attention to the review scores, it is the objective information in the review that matters.
That said, apparently it has an incredible soundrack, amazing looks, great battle system and good story. Welp, that's a 10/10 for me. Reviewers tend to cut a point for lesser RPG elements but I get that enough in Witcher-type sandbox games, doesn't really affect my liking of a FF.
Overall, super-hyped and excited for the first time for a FF after 12.
I'll be waiting for PS5 Pro, though. And meanwhile will try to clear the backlog of games.
