Daamn, the Trading Places 2 side quest... Got me in the feels

A lot of the late game sidequests are like this. A lot of feels to be had for sure. Some of them really caught me off guard.

Never had a game make me want to slaughter a father and his son the way this one did with the nobleman, his kid and the pet wolf in that one quest. Definite Joffrey vibes from that kid.

Just did the Bahamut fight, and I keep getting surprised at how unique each fight is. This one just blew me away, and the music was beyond amazing.

The titan fight wasn't as cathartic as I thought it would be. The music in that one is the only miss for me so far. It really took me out of it.

I'm only just leaving Martha's Rest with Jane & Torgal, but every time I sit down to play this game, I experience something new that has me unwittingly saying aloud "Wow, this is so good..."

I've been chasing this feeling for too long; playing this has been so cathartic.

I am reveling in the fact that I have a FF game currently ongoing again that I am HOOKED to for the first time in who knows how long.

I felt this too about the music, but then again it was pretty much the same thing Soken did for Titan in XIV

Finished the game doing everything.

Easily my favorite FF game, only tactics comes close. My final time was 48 hours which I think was the perfect length.

Maehiro's revenge for them not letting him kill the scions, he just wants us to suffer. If you do all the sidequests before the final chapter and then that ending hits, god damn it just wrecked me. The scenes of Joshua and Clive when they are younger and then Jill at the end, just absolutely vicious.

One of the scenes that really had me going "wow" out loud was, and this isn't really a spoiler but there's a scene in the Main Story that is an inn at the desert (before titan) and people are traveling up and down the stairs watching events unfold, going room to room.

And the cinematography is so fucking well done the way it pans to the characters. I was so impressed, and it was just a simple little thing.

I also just finished the "Payback" quest, shit was like cutting onions in my living room. Side quests definitely got way better.

Also, wasn't expecting the Titan stuff to be cut short there. I guess still got a little bit to go before the big ass titan fights. Probably for the best it didn't happen in Rosalith or everything would've been fully destroyed

I'm really glad they spaced it out. The big 25 minute preview they released a while back made it seem like a back to back to back kind of sequence, so it was nice to see that they didn't keep everything in order like that. Gave Hugo a chance to really lose his shit properly

Yes, exactly. I am really taking my time with this, smelling all the roses. I'm constantly given pause for all the best reasons.

Wow, this zone is gorgeous.
Wow, the dialogue in that scene was excellent.
Wow, that combo I just did was insane.
Wow, what a creative thing to do to with this game's Cid.
Wow, Soken really outdid himself with this piece.
Wow, the voice actor poured themselves into delivering that line.
Wow, this castle layout really hearkens back to the SNES era.
Wow, I've never seen attention to framing and cinematography like that in a game.
Wow, I actually care about the stakes of this throwaway NPC.
Wow, I can't believe how the second half of that fight vs Garuda went.

Beat after beat after beat is better than everything they produced in the last 22 years and it is so healing. I'm relishing this; it's a rather fulfilling experience.

I mean, for the most part, you're latching on to some world building. I don't disagree that's integral to a good RPG, but I'd like to imagine how much better future games could be if the rest of "RPG" wasn't forgotten.
