Object based motion blur looks fantastic.
But most games (like this one) just use the lazy camera version to mask shitty framerates. It's the equivalent of smearing vaseline on the screen everytime the camera moves.

Except the game does use object based motion blur as well as camera based.
Oh fuck yeah Type D controls is exactly what I wanted. Swap dodge and eikonic feat
Ok so remove the "just" part of my post. Point remains is that camera based motion blur looks bad and is almost exclusively used as a cover for shitty framerates
ye i don't get motion sickness, and object based motion blur can add weight / style to specific animations when done skillfully. camera based however makes the entire screen look like a blurry, smudgy mess that as kran say mostly hides shit framerates while butchering visual clarity.
After playing with it a bit I can see why they went with what they did. It's not ideal, but the game doesn't run great and the motion blur really helps hide a lot of the problems.
Just beat it. Did all the quests, so idk why I didn't get every trophy in cids room. Idk if I care enough to ng+ or 100% this on inferior settings, but the plot was enjoyable all the way through. Idk who's complaining about it not sticking the landing, cause I think it kept the thread on throughout the game and finished it well. The complaints about the side quests still stands tho lol

Meanwhile I can't even notice much of the difference lol
Man the highs of this game are so fucking high, I can't even be bogged down with the minor annoyances.
Holy fucking shit that Bahamut fight. It might be the single greatest spectacle I have ever experienced in a video game. I don't even know how anything else in the game can top that. The entire last year of hype paid off in that fight alone for me
Spoiler: show
Was literally avoiding playing much because the motion blur strained my eyes. Lots of blinking trying to focus and eventually gave me a headache. Wouldn't say its motion sickness at all (for me).
Actually impressed a fix came this quickly tho, fuck yea. It was painful to slow roll because even doing that I was getting into some juicy shit and I want to GO.
Motion Blur is the first setting I turn off in every single game that has it. Hate it.
ok based, the game looks so much better with motion blur off and i thought i was having a placebo effect for a sec because i was like WOW the difference is massive. but then noticed the difference was too massive, idk if killing motion blur did it or they snuck in a performance mode increase but the frame rate issues are also significantly improved, measured them with my monitor's framerate counter then went to Reddit and sawr others noting the same. still can't maintain 60fps to save its life but 95%+ of the game is now 50-60 whereas drops to 40-something or even high 30s were frequent before the newest patch.
huge improvement re playability, good on SE to get the work out so quickly.
Based CBU3
Shit gets real after that fight so hunker down awhile. Side quest central but some of them are like..damn, who made me care about all you people?
I have all but one Eikon now ( based on the abilities board) and only S tier hunts available currently which I'm not even going to attempt to find yet.

they arent remotely difficult, no reason not to do em at that point
The first S hunt that appeared was the only problematic one for me, just because the level difference between us was so big at that point
I beat him at lvl 35 without much issues. Got 2 levels out of it lol
Abuse the Ifrit dmg negation skill more
"Git gud scrub"
"just abuse the invincibility ability"
Might as well just say "equip the auto-dodge and auto-potion accessories" lol
I mean it's an eikon ability that you learn and upgrade throughout the game. Not something handed to you at the start. Equating that to the auto accessories is a take only a moron would...so yeah that tracks.
Or should I be fighting him with a sword and no magic only?
If all else fails, will o the wisps
