I don't use Wykes to dodge damage, I just use it to pummel the Lightning Rod while enemies are staggered to stack up damage.
none of the S ranks were hard in either playthrough, in fact the only death I took in either playthrough was Svarog on playthrough one cause I locked onto him like an idiot and got hit by him when the camera went crazy during his first dive bomb lol
Curious to know what builds for max deeps people used, I can tell you I changed it up massively in FF mode and managed to eke out a 350k stagger combo on certan enemies, first playthrough max I think was only 150k
Spoiler: show
I've only just gotten the fourth eikon, but I had a big increase in stagger damage when I started using Lightning Rod. At first it was something like Lightning Rod > Thunderspark > Will-O-the-Wykes > Gouge, but now I do Lightning Rod > Wykes > Ignition > Judgment Bolt.
Well shit I'm level 43 so guess I'm going hunting later. I had figured they were all out of my league and though I can tell I'm closing in on the end was hesitant. None of the other hunts have been overly hard just annoying at times.

Darkness + Dancing Edge to charge Zan without having to use O, ice age or whatever I like as my triangle ability
Garuda + Gigaflare (Mastered), whatever the wind ult is called the tornado one with massive stagger
Shiva + Impulse (Mastered), Mesmerize for big stagger and quick recharge
I used to have rooks gambit, but mesmerize is also a huge stagger but it does better damage and aoe so I stuck with that. The freeze on Shiva is nice, and the stagger trigger on Garuda is helpful. I only charge Zan with Dancing Edge, so it takes two to get a level 5, which I use during stagger. Usually I can have tornado going as I trigger stagger, rush to get a high combo and blow Zan followed by Gigaflare, and if I do that right the mob is almost dead unless it's a story boss lol. I also like Zan cause it instaclears the screen which is very helpful on those multistage fights.

They're all relatively easy. Took them all out as soon as they were available to fight and was definitely 12+ levels lower for the first 2 S ranks. By the time the 3rd was available, I think I was only like 5 or 6 levels below.
Savrog was the only one that took me 2 attempts just cause I was being a little overly aggressive my first try and didn't time my dodges well lol.
Also I used the Berserker ring and still use it. Kind of love it, the dodge is super flashy which can get tedious, but the dodge is wider and it putting you into a semi-primed state is very nice
I wish I could turn off the animation on that ring. But yeah it's effect is great
I kind of love it. It's also reassuring to definitively know I properly dodged, not to mention having that extra half a second to decide if I want to quickly counter attack or pull back for another dodge or etc
I feel like my dodges are more successful with longer iframes with the berserker ring, and the follow up attacks and stagger are much faster. It's sorta like a ring of timely assistance mixed with the attack bonus.

Does Berserker Ring disable precision ranged counter? I just got it earlier and found that I think I can't shoot fireballs (specifically for when i'm dodging at range and the mob is far away)
new Yoshi interview dropped, said the game was indeed designed and completed without the intention of adding anything but player feedback asking for DLC sent them back and they're working on new announcements concerning it. sounds like post-release support was always dependent on the game's success and big sales and big critic scores ensures that DLC is coming.
So Svarog game me issues but the rest one shot so far outside of Pandemonium which I had down to about 1/4 health then ate something to the face, but not bad.
Honestly my only issue with Svarog was the fact I was being dumb about patterns. I had to reach back into my WoW days of doing Sunwell to remind myself how this shit works.
I had to try about 5 tines , two others I literally wiped as I ran into something like an idiot and called that a loss lol.

Or they always had DLC planned, and this was another opportunity to manufacture positive optics for CBU3 -- something he's had to master by virtue of doing it nonstop for 10 years since taking the reigns of FF14. Don't mean to be cynical, though; they've legitimately listened to much fan feedback and acted swiftly on it. E.g., the motion blur patch is wonderful. And if this results in a true challenge to use Ultima Weapon against, I'm all for it. Pitting this game's best weapon as a mere trophy item rubs me the wrong way, and FF has always had its superbosses. Time will tell.Originally Posted by Andalusian girls
Surprised none of you are using Rift Slip, that ability is OP.
Definitely at the end now.
All the side quests popped up and going to be the final push hopefully tomorrow.
I'm actually looking forward to playing NG+ because I've absolutely loved every moment of this game.

Eh, maybe in ng+ but why bother on easy mode? Most worthwhile abilities give you iframes anyways, and are able to chain combos without rift. Also I don't like having to sometimes swap over twice to find the correct icon before hitting rift, which takes too long and kinda defeats the purpose.

I thought Baha sucked until I had to complete his trials and actually learned how his abilities work. I still prefer other Eikons, but he can definitely wreck some havoc. I might have read the tutorial too fast the first time, because I had no idea you can charge flare by dodging and it felt like a useless skill
