no, pretty sure the event was coming out on October 31st with 6.51 wasn't it?

That was the Fall Guys collab
PSN Store listed FF16 at 40% off from 11/17 to 11/28 (now it's $69.99 again).
It's still $39.99 on the SE Store, Gamestop, Best Buy, etc. Amazon even has it at $34.99.
The result of all that is already a +36% leap in worldwide sales over the last 10 days. So overall they're probably sitting at something like 4.7M total units sold.
Next year will see the PC version and DLC release (probably in Q3, way after FF7Rebirth on 02/29), so expect that figure to climb even higher... eventually.
I don't think that 36% quoted means a 36% increase in overall sales.
It's just 36% uptick in active players. Which makes sense when the game goes on sale for the first time.Using gameplay data from 3.2 million active PSN accounts (courtesy of our partnership with GameInsights), we noticed that FFXVI has been seeing a considerable rise in active PS5 players over the last two weeks. Between Sunday, November 12, 2023 and Sunday, November 26, 2023, Final Fantasy XVI has seen a 36.03% rise in PS5 players — a pretty significant jump for a game that's been out for over five months now.
Oho, I see. My source worded it like a flat +36% sales increase. But all it really means is they recorded the daily average of PS5s booting the game increasing from like 50K to 68K or something during that 13 day span. Not nearly as big a deal, wonder why it was deemed reportable in the first place. Would expect any AAA title that halves its price suddenly for the holidays to experience a tiny activity uptick event like that.
Finally picked this up for myself now that PS5 Slim is a thing. Just finished where Clive realized he can data drain.
Spoiler: show
Is there a reason to use/forge/upgrade green lined gear when purple lined gear is available (trophies or combat)? Doesn't seem to be anything more than a skin and small damage/stagger or defense/hp difference.
I've noted a lot of talk about any ability setup works, but some options are clearly better than others. With that in mind:
Spoiler: show
Finally, does potion inventory ever increase or do I get the ability to create potions? And are stoneskin tonics worth it over strength potions?
There will be side quests to increase potion inventory.
And potion strength
Don't worry about focusing on which Eikon abilities to target or etc, etc. Game is easy enough that you're just better off going with what's fun for you. And because you can reset your point usage on the fly, you have free reign to mess around with your setups as much as you want. So yeah, just go with what's fun
Holy shit they just gonna shadow drop that shit on us like that damn.
I feel like their confidence in it is low?
I reckon this will give us 2~ hours of game play, maybe 4 if they stuff it in side quests.
Better not cost £15 ($20) (FF7R dlc price)

Final Fantasy XVI players will soon be able to enjoy two new DLC chapters for the critically-acclaimed action-RPG, one very soon indeed: Echoes of the Fallen launches on PlayStation Store today! The second DLC, entitled The Rising Tide, releases Spring 2024. Both are paid-for DLC, but players can purchase the Final Fantasy XVI Expansion Pass to enjoy both chapters at a discounted price.
Echoes of the Fallen unlocks a whole new story, battles, weapons, accessories, level cap and more. For players who have completed the required quests, this new adventure begins before the base game’s final battle, as strange, dark crystals begin to circulate on the black market. Players will follow Clive and his friends during their investigations as they encounter a group of suspicious traders, leading them to a long-abandoned Fallen tower known as the Sagespire. There, they will unravel the terrible secrets that await within.
Special bonus items for purchasing Echoes of the Fallen or the Expansion Pass include the Buster Sword, allowing Clive to wield Cloud Strife’s iconic weapon from Final Fantasy VII, and the “Away (1987)” Orchestrion Roll which allows a chip-tune version of the song “Away” to be played as background music in the hideaway.
The Rising Tide, set to release in Spring 2024, will bring new challenges and more, including the confrontation between Clive and the legendary Eikon, Leviathan. In celebration of the nominations and wins at The Game Awards, Final Fantasy XVI is discounted on PlayStation Store from December 7 through 11.
