Out presidents varied along the asshole scale for most of the 20th century, but wrt lasting impact I would say Reagan actually the worst president of the 20th century.

He brought anti-government forces to the foreground even more strongly than Carter. He also brought the "we are fighting in ever-more-hostile territory" attitude of a CA Republican of that era.

Trump is the spiritual successor to Reaganism. An incompetent celebrity with a persecution complex that doesn't believe in functioning government.
