It does gum up the works a bit. All election results must be certified by December 8th. If they want to attempt doing anything through the courts, that means they have only the days courts are open, minus Veteran's Day and Thanksgiving, to pull something off. Losing the official with the most knowledge of how could cause a delay while they find a replacement. Basically there's a window of 18 days wherein ratfucking may still occur, the top election oversight official resigning might knock that down to under 2 weeks.

You assume there are rules to follow, they'll just grab the first person who says I'll do it, and it's done.
They don't need to be qualified. Don't need to know how to do anything other than say "yup", fuck I'll do it, pay me up front and I'll "find" a million ballots with Trumps name on it, and/or Bidens name with fake sigs... they're all right here in this pile of totally not blank pieces of paper.

Kind of interesting. General mood is this is all for show so he doesn't appear weak. Pence is going on vacation at the end of this week, and trumps staffers all lose health insurance and pay after Sunday with no signal they'll be kept on. But they're also being threatened that if they start looking for work the trump team will "talk" to undermine their staffers ability to find work (that part is in another article not this one).

Thus far the courts have shown zero tolerance for this charade and I hope that continues. Trump is just trying to sell his brand/debt to his idiot followers and the sycophants like Cruz are just appealing to that base for their own potential future elections.

I'm just realizing that we will be spared the shame and embarrassment of Trump during an Olympic games. Hopefully if they can be carried out safely in 2021 it will be Biden's minor gaffes instead of Trump's outright attrocities.
