The only things that motivates humans is their self-interest, which boils down to the pursuit of pleasure.

Sometimes, for some people, thatinterest can manifest in caring about others. People take pleasure in people cost to them -- their family, their friends, their community -- doing well. But as pressures mount, the circle always gets smaller.

That's why capitalism is inevitable and necessary. You need a system that rewards people, or they won't work harder. The failure of the Great Leap Forward proves that once self-interest (profit) is gone, then someone can get by with less effort, they will do so. Once you introduce profit back into the equation, then they care again.

Hedonism is a rather hollow thing to advocate for. Humans are naturally compassionate and social, it isn't some interest like soccer or arts and crafts or a matter of simple pleasure seeking.

We don't call feudalism inevitable with an air of finality. Neither then should we declare the transition from it as such either. There is a tendency in error for those of their time to believe in something as the be-all and end-all. Unable to really conceptualize a reality different from their own. You come off as the sort of person who be advocating for monarchy as such means to an end because naturally we must be lead the same as a flock required a Shepard, and whatever other deficiency idea circles back around to you.
Part of this is also the emphasis on not on only the corruption of the notion of human nature, but the over emphasis on the fact that. Capitalism has elevated the lives of others and lead to a reality for many post scarcity. Unfortunately, the fact stops there and lacks any analysis because it's just so convenient. Forever is the liberal to turn a blind eye to the material reality beyond their own benefit or over the horizon.

There be no reason to go into the Great Leap Forward when you are starting from such a basis of misconception. The whole 'communism is when nobody has motivation ' thing is really cliché though.
