Dammit I have to agree with Day here. People are going to be obsessed with the presidents kids when they do stupid shit no matter what. The impact on the world/country and how important it is will vary depending on the situation but Day isn't saying that. Just that people are obsessed with the presidents kids because they are connected to the president. That is how it has always been. People liked hearing about Obama's daughters even if it was about what school they were going to and what they were studying etc.

Granted the controversy around Trump's kids that were a part of the administration is more grounded and justified but to think that a president's kid doing stupid shit wouldn't end up being a major news cycle is silly.
