You know he knew 100% of his readers would immediately think of that and he decided to use that word anyway.

Crudely drawn dicks will always be funny

350ish pages to go. This book has felt like one massive Sanderlanche since Day 4. Probably finish by Wednesday.

Snap thoughts after finishing tonight. So extreme spoilers obviously Cosmere wide.

Though in a non spoiler context - I feel awful for the Cosmere Continuity editor trying to keep track of the cosmere timeline.

    Spoiler: show

I can understand why Brando Sando thought this novel could be divisive. Odium/Taravangian won the battle of champions from the drop of the contract. The win was predetermined up until the twist at the end. Even the twist that the end was a default Taravangian victory.

Then the end gave me some evil rendition of Hero of Ages' ending. It worked well enough. Day 9 felt like the highest quality for me because of the Tanavast infodump and how everything fell to pieces in Azir and Thaylenah. Jasnah got played like a fiddle with everything getting flipped on her going far far back to actions she did in Way of Kings. Adolin's humbling to being a common soldier gave him such a satisfying journey. Such a sad end for him tho.

So I guess we know who is Amp now in Sunlit Man. Explains so much about Sigzil. Probably had it in the outlined before he wrote either this or Sunlit.

So back to continuity, We're officially aligned with right before Alloy of Law continuity wise. A boat load of time will be passing on isolated Roshar compared to Scadrial and everywhere else. Also explains why there's the travel advisories to Roshar mentioned in Mistborn Era 2.

WoR still remains my favorite of this set. Better than Oathbringer and RoW easily. More thoughts later.

Oooh lordy. Just finished. I was expecting something like this given that it's book 5 of 10.

    Spoiler: show
Flawless ending for Kaladin even if him having to say goodbye to everyone makes me sad. Looking forward to seeing the epic Final Return in 2040. Just sad that Szeth thinks he got him killed.

Dalinar. Damn. The ending was very fitting for him but I am so sad he died. Fuck you Taravangian for what you did to Gavinor. #DalinarWasRight. Similarly, sad that most people won't understand what and why Dalinar did what he did. Looking forward to Renarin piecing it together.

Rough times incoming for Roshar. I wonder how they will bring Stormlight back eventually, or if they will make Towerlight usable outside Urithiru

    Shallan was preggo right?

Also Cultivation is a bitch ass pussy

You mean Aux? lol. I kinda guessed it was him from the name and his usage of the word squire. 12124. 1=A, 21=U, 24=X

Which is too bad because I was hoping him and Szeth would become friends. By the time he broke that bond, I was already convinced it was Aux so something had to happen. And it just made me sad about Aux dying all over again because he was just a noob trying to act tough

I think I may want to reread Sunlit Man soon given everything that went down here

I think I'm ok with a 2-3 year break from a heavy Cosmere series.

On that note, lol Stormlight 6 penciled in for December 2031. 7 years everyone!

I suppose. But I also wonder if sometimes the issue is how tight a grib Sando has on his properties? We've yet to see him do TV/movie. For all we know he's terrible at it lol

I honestly don't know how you make any of his cosmere stuff other than maybe Warbreaker work for Live-Action. They are just too reliant on wacky magic shit that just won't look good unless it's got a Avatar level budget.

Took me a bit, but finally finished.
I think by the time book 6 comes out, I’m going to have to reread the entire Cosmere.

    Spoiler: show
I loved the ending! The only thing that I didn't like as Gavinor. I was on board with the Baby Champion theory. I think I would have preferred it if they had played it straight. One thing that I feel that had been missing from the books was I don't think we've seen the Radiants/good guys lose a fight because they upheld honor. And I was expecting Dalinar to lose a fight vs the Gav on behalf of that. However.....as much as Id want that explored where Brandon went is really interesting. In retrospect it was hinted at before with how many pages was spent talking to Shards and them declining to interfere.

Also I just think the parralels are interesting. Like, in my mind honor = good, blindly following the textual law = bad. However with Szeth/Nale and Adolin I think Brandon was gesturing, "Hey, blindly following honor codes can be just as bad as being a strict textualist. So thats really interesting.

Looking forward to when the heralds return! One of my favorite little tidbits ever in this manga One Piece, is that the there is a 2 year time skip, but two years of publication before, the captain Luffy was separated from his crew. So by the time the two year timeskip happened, the reunion was really emotional to the reader because the reader themselves had been separated from the crew for two years. I feel thats going to be similar to this timeskip, where we will probably feel the emotion reunion just as much as Kaladin & friends does.

I'm surprised no one has talked about Isles of the Emberdark. Heck I'm nearly 2 months late reading it because I have been in a reading rut. Only read it when the hardcover got shipped and them black pages pushed me to read.

    Spoiler: show
Glad there was a warning that the first 25% was a rehash of Sixth of the Dusk and a prologue. Was released 11 years ago so that was definitely not fresh in my mind.

I guess there's a galaxy wide war between Scadrians and Rosharans in this part of the timeline. Had to laugh at Starling's apt description of the Malwans being military fascists.

Dusk's journey in part 2 was p much Moana. Good to see Xisis again after Tress. And completely forgot Crow was from Tress.

Not surprised the cargo ship is named the Dynamic Storyteller's Incredible Conveyance. Better than "Plot Device" I guess.
