So I guess I need to do a re-read of Elantris and Emperor's Soul while I'm at it. Shai was the last person I thought would show up in a non-Sel novel.

I'm still on the fence about Wax being Harmony's champion in interplanetary conflicts. While he became a Mistborn thanks to the lab explosion in part 1, I don't think his head is in it to keep fighting willingly. He will be begrudgingly pulled into conflict as was the case here.

Still can't put my finger on chronology. Hoid can't be everywhere all at once after all.

edit: why the hell did I not notice that the Ghostbloods that helped Steris make the breakwater were a bunch of Skybreakers?

Yeah, I should re-read Emperor's Soul. That's one of the gnarliest stories in that it digs deep into the more high concept stuff in the Comsere.

Oh i didnt notice they were Skybreakers either. Man, I cant wait, we're getting closer and closer to an epic surgebinder v mistborn fight.

So found out where chronologically Era 2 sits thanks to the 17th Shard's archiving of the Word of Brandon.

Era 2 happens after Stormlight 5. What implications this makes for the Ghostbloods having Skybreakers at Scadrial? Roshar now being on the list of "difficult to travel" list means Odium is likely going to reign over the system or something is going to mess up the perpendicularity of Cultivation or Dalinar's Bondsmith abilities to open up Honor's perpendicularity.

Also lol @ Shai doing math/astronomy to link up to the Dor on Sel. I wouldn't mind a novella about Kelsier's attempt to recover her. Be sad if her art of Forgery is lost because of that stamp that changed her into chad-Elantrian. And I wonder along with others think she is still pissed at Hoid for getting her jailed leading to The Emperor's Soul. She had to have known Hoid is Wax's carriage driver considering Kelsier's doings with Hoid in the past in the Cognitive Realm (Secret History)

Codenames Are Stupid also being a minor character in Elantris surprised me. Thing is I dread to re-read Elantris unless it's the republication with updates.

Which brings me to Autonomy. Where the hell did she get her army that's connected to her shard (glowing red eyes being the key) and how is it she's dipping into interplanetary conflicts. And her god metal being the catalyst to split Harmonium is quite the scary thing. Possibly this becomes nuclear power leading into era 3 possibly, a cold war between the north and south who now have the Bands of Mourning?

Many unanswered questions that we won't get for another few novels in maybe 3-5 years.

Oh I didnt realize that about that charcter of Elantris. Honestly I'm not going to care because I really didnt like that book. I'm sure if she's important I'll be content of reading her coppermind page.

And yeah, I don't think what Autonomy is doing is too outrageous. She's a god and Rayse was able to travel around and destroy shards.

And yeah, I'd love a Shai confronting Kelsier scene. It'd probably be like Kel and Shallan interacting for the second time after that silly first encounter, lol.

And about the Skybreakers, they ask Steris and governor Varlance the legality of their actions before they leap to the sky. Steris just assumed they were coinshots with the way they shot up into the sky.

Also poor Marsh. Mostly out of Atium when he shows up at the Constabulary station, but somehow able to get his fix at the end and stop aging due to SCIENCE. I wonder if he will still show up in era 3 coked up on Atium.

Harmony will eventually turn into Discord (an imbalance of Preservation and Ruin) and finally act. Harmony did lie to Kelsier at the epilogue after all.

Brandon said the Soverieign was "involved", so maybe he did the actual crafting but he used another method to get all the powers in there at once. But yeah, maybe it's Keslier being a bastard, or maybe the South developed a technology as a counter to investiture.

Brando Sando claims that Hoid is the only Radiant to leave the Roshar system and keep surges at this point in continuity - post Stormlight 5.

And Stormlight 5 is at about 80k words written. And he doesn't think the first sequence will be under 100k - less than a quarter of the book if interludes are included. Snarked that readers/viewers are twiddling their thumbs that it may be a 500k word novel.

With so much time passing, he's going to be even older in era 3, and it sounds like they bought quite a large chunk of time with Trell, so I wouldn't be surprised if era three is decades from now, and it seemed like the epilogue was setting up him and girly girl to become bigger cogs in the government to help push things in the right direction. So much time would make for a very long cold war, but would also let the other side do all the experimentation and planning they need to do with the bands of Mourning.

I suspect technology will advance faster than expected so they'll still be around in Era 3 since it's supposed to be on the level of "today's technology". Maybe we get Steris or Wax as governor of Elendel

The first Kickstarter book, Tress and the Emerald Sea is Cosmere. The writing style is definitely different and the reason for that is revealed at 7% in the book, which is also where it was confirmed for me to be Cosmere.

This was a very neat surprise, so even though it’s pretty early, it was neat to discover and I wouldn’t want to ruin the surprise. But, if you didn’t plan on reading it at all but are big on Cosmere, this fact might get you to read it:
