Well I commented on every one of those points in that post and it's part of why it's very unlikely..
Based on articles like this, pure vaccine herd immunity before basically 2023 (when I believe you can realistically expect most children to be vaccinated) if ever requires every single adult in the US to be vaccinated:

The claim above is 85% of the US can be vaccinated by September, but adults only make up somewhere in the realm of ~74% of the population (click me)
The point being, the attitude you can take really depends on where the line drawn in the sand is. If it's complete herd immunity without qualifiers then yeah. The pandemic will probably persist well into next year.
