Provincial officials said the cases involved a couple from Durham Region with no known travel history, but had been in contact with a recent traveller from the U.K.

This part must be a recent development, cause when this first broke a couple days ago, all that was known was "no known travel history".

I'm a little disturbed by the lack of "this traveler from the UK has been tested and is in isolation awaiting results" though.

We're not getting them sent to us, and when we are they're going to areas that don't necessarily need them. Bear in mind each dose gets doubled as you need both shots, so it's more like 5 million.

65%~ efficacy with the first dose (takes a few weeks to reach this as your body responds). Second dose is designed to go in when your body is coming from peak response so that the immune system responds even more robustly. This is what maximizes response and creates a good memory response.

It's difficult to say whether that response will be effective when the immune system quiets down in 4-5 months, but the hope is circulating memory cells will reduce the severity of the illness, which is all vaccines really do - give the immune system time to respond before severe illness sets in.
