If spring break just plateaus the charts for a couple weeks before more declines, I'll be happy. I moved my wedding for this, and so far at least my side of the family will be vaccinated up and ready to go by the late summer.

I'd feel more at ease if we could get some more approved vaccines out there, and it seems to be almost happening.

I'd have a more optimistic outlook except that I look around at the people I work with who both wont get the vaccine or wear a mask unless they're where administrators might see them, and look in the community that just straight ignored the dining restrictions and the police that refused to enforce them.

So, no. Not terribly optimistic at this point.

Eventually those people are going to have to be filed away into the idiot bin and ignored/avoided once every adult that wants a jab can get one readily.

You cannot allow objectionable people like that dictate the pace of anything. Not unless you want actual doomer style permanent lockdown anyway.

When every reasonable person has the ability to and is getting vaccinated and enough time has passed for immunity to build up, those people can not exist as far as I'm concerned. Not letting them scare me into pausing my life any longer.

Well I will say this for sure, if I worked in a scenario where I was constantly surrounded by covidiots/antivaxxers then I would be looking for a new job. If their company isn't making it mandatory and they resist it to the end then society is going to move on without them.

The day I hear somebody in power try to seriously proclaim that quarantine must continue due to fucking antivaxxers is the day this whole thing hits rock bottom. The revolution against them would be unreal.

I've wondered that about a lot of contagious diseases over the past year. None of my family has had so much as a cold in the past year.

We did! And yeah not a single sickness this season so far.

I did get the flu shot. Only had a mild cold which I did take time off from work. Had no covid symptoms outside of a very light cough.

Astylla skipped the flu shot this year, she did get blasted with a bout of bronchitis, covid test was negative.

Only mild colds in this house, when normally there's at least one or two spells of tonsillitis/strep.

My Mom got the second dose of the Moderna vaccine a couple days ago. She said she felt tired and sore but was better today. The only reason I'm telling you this is if you have a parent that is a senior citizen (65+) encourage them to get the shots. A short time of discomfort for a long time of peace of mind.

mom told me she's not going to get it just yet, since she has a lot of neurological issues and apparently it can sometimes cause issues with that. Not sure if that's true or not but she said she's read a few studies.
