I was finally able to get an appointment for my dad to get a vaccine via Kaiser (California.) I'll probably be waiting for a long time since CA went to age-based prioritization. The disabled community is plenty mad about it.
My parents had appointments for getting vaxxed today but my dad's got canceled because they didn't get as much vaccine as expected.
Whelp tested positive for covid. Thought it was a chest cold earlier in the week, just had congestion + stuffed nose so didn't think much of it but did rapid test (lol 2-3 day turn around is rapid) and got results this morning.
Hopefully it's on the downslope, don't feel nearly as crappy as I did Sunday/Monday and not at all how horrible I felt last year in march when i'm pretty sure I had it.
feel better dude hope you don't lose your sense of smell
best of luck man.
Hope you don't lose your lung capacity. Good luck.

Fr tho. Like, was it so hard to go to some companies and be like "here's millions of dollars, I need at least 300 million doses" and then they're like "thank you Mr. President".
This wasn't even the hard part and the fact it took a year to get here is wild.

what are you saying
Meanwhile Los Angeles's vaccine distribution pods (Dodger Stadium and 4 other sites) shut down Thursday (were slated to shut down today) because the city received only 16,000 doses for the week. This was down from 96k the previous week. Vaccinations will not resume until early next week, probably Tuesday, until does are delivered.
"why didn't trump order more doses of vaccine?"

My symptoms were weird too when I got checked so the doctor decided to do a rapid, a PCR, and a flu test.
All three are nasal. Pretty sure the flu test took brain matter with it. Horrible experience. The rapid was back in a couple hours though she even called me and said hey did anyone call you lol you're fucking positive bro.
My company's work from home orders have been expanded again and will be reevaluated at the end of April. Still feels surreal I've been out of the office for almost a year now.
Yeah it is so weird to think about how much things have changed in the last year. I went from working in an office with three other co-workers in my department/office to working from home to getting laid off to getting a new job that is permanently work from home. I am still taking care of IT at the same business I got laid off from just as an outside contractor since they outsourced their IT work.
Honestly I don't think I could stand working from home full time. I mean being able to sleep in/not drive in the morning is nice but at the same time living in an apartment and having to set up another workstation in my living room takes up a bit of space.
