The gym quickly shut down, but 55 of the 81 people who attended the high-intensity classes eventually tested positive between Aug. 24 and Sept. 1, 2020.So the gym wasn't inforcing the mask use AND they were having 81 person classes. It sounds like they were not enforcing any rules about class size or mask wearing. Most attendees did not wear a mask during exercise class; infrequent mask use when participating in indoor exercise classes likely contributed to transmission," the CDC stated in their report.
no gym in my city enforces masks, they make you wear one to walk in then say you can take it off on the workout floor. it matches up with our governor's executive order but its still so goddamn stupid
My gym is attached to and part of the biggest hospital within 100+ miles. They don't fuck around with the rules, and enforce them, considering it is also where physical therapy is performed and the older clients they service.
Edit: I'm not trying to saw gyms are safe FYI... they are not.
We have no idea how big the workspace is, its highly likely theyre unable to maintain proper distancing with 81 people.
So one case study showed that some selfish pieces of shit who KNEW they were positive with covid went to exercise classes regardless."It's high respiration in a closed space," Epstein said. "Yes, people brought masks but evidently [a majority] said they wore them rarely, including some attendees with covid. Some were symptomatic and some knew that they were positive. All of those are very, very high-risk circumstances."
Regardless, 6 feet ain't gonna save you if everyone is huffing and puffing maskless for an hour.
No, but the likelyhood of the virus being present among the participants goes up to 100% if someone knowingly has the virus and brings it to the group.
This just in:
Some people suck.
More at 11.
I do a lot of cardio, and i wear a mask 100% of the time. You get used to it. On the weekends I normally spend 2-3 hours there and change out my mask 2-3 times depending on how intense my workouts are. When my masks get too sweaty, it makes it harder to breathe, so I exchange when needed.
I just decided to get fat until further notice
I'm pretty much the same way. Normal day to day stuff, sure, walking around in a mask is tolerable and I can do it. But I already sweat like a pig when I do cardio, and wearing a mask while sweaty just makes me feel disgusting and sick. So made the decision to cancel my gym membership until the mask mandates are done.
Get a 24/7 gym membership and go during dead hours. Workout alone and maskless
masked up and gymming to lift, getting cardio hiking and swimming and surfing and hitting a heavy bag
that said i'm p sure i've come close to death a few times trying to get enough oxygen through a mask while deadlifting
