That's pretty much Alex Smith's game for the last several years. It only took Jim Harbaugh to figure it out, flip him to KC for a draft pick, in which he was basically good not great for KC to let them get into the playoffs. Alex Smith really is the definition of not bad enough to cost you games, but not good enough to really win you games if you need him to bail you out.
