Well I think that Telltale is only a brand now as they went out of business a few years back and got bought out. It was a trend that was going for a while in gaming. It thankfully seems to have died out mostly.

If it's made in Unreal Engine, it's EGS exclusive.
At least EA came to their senses and got their shit back on Steam even if it still requires Origin to launch their titles.
Hell I have a uPlay account if I ever want to play Ubisoft stuff since that's EGS only. (I don't really play any UbiSoft games)
