yeah nah it's probably a total coincidence an unprecedented spate of injuries have descended on almost every playoff team after a condensed season and limited offseason that all the players complained was hard on their bodies

the nba rushed everyone back into playing on short offseason rest, as well as making the players play the ASG. it's absolutely clear that the normal rest and recovery time players should have been allotted was not the same as in normal years.

the other thing is if you look at the clips playoff schedule, they had to play every other day for a month straight. they had to start the WCF two days earlier because the NBA/ABC wanted a game on father's day (started sunday), and the ECF side got the extra days (started wed). that's not even remotely equitable, because there is literally no reason for ECF/WCF to not start one right after another.

the whole point is that making players go through an every other day schedule is a stupid as fuck thing to do when the nba should do their best to let players have adequate rest. if you think the abnormally high rate of injuries this post season would not have been bettered by a less rigorous schedule then i don't know what to tell you. i literally have never complained about injuries in the playoffs before this point, because that stuff just happens. but the nba exacerbated things this year and the results are clear.
