Also from PFT: "Take a look at the contract. Trading him would result in a cap charge of $21.6 million. The Herschel-sized haul of draft picks that a Deshaun Watson trade would generate would more than justify it."

maybe florio should learn how to google properly
It is on like 6 sites in the last few hours. You're wrong lol.
lol, i see what florio sees. in 2021 the dead money in 2021 and 2021 alone is 21m.... he isn't looking at the other 5 years of the deal lol
All of these major sites did not all get it wrong lmao. It is not just Florio homy.
guy. overthecap and spotrac aren't wrong lol. its literally what they do
And isn't Florio a literal contract lawyer by trade? lol.
Another from BleacherReport:
"The franchise recently made the 25-year-old the second-highest-paid player in NFL history, but according to Spotrac, his four-year, $156 million contract would leave the Texans with a "mere" $21.6 million dead-cap hit in the event of the trade this offseason. "
Give up dawg. Literally every major site is saying the opposite of your overthecap investigation.
Jesus fuck. If Deshaun Watson is traded in 2021 the Texans will eat: $21,600,000 in 2021, $16,200,000 in 2022, $10,800,000 in 2023, and $5,400,000 in 2024.
This isn't shit I'm making up, it's right fucking there you, me, and Mike Florio to google for themselves on overthecap and spotrac.
For a guy that believes himself to be a statistician you are an absolute fucking moron with everything surrounding numbers.
You think THAT makes him not tradeable????
And I'm just posting you articles that say the exact opposite of what you posted. If every single one has it wrong and you're right, good for you. I'm not sitting around doing spottrac investigations when tweet from reliable sources tells me otherwise lol. Either way, he is tradeable. And yes, what I do for a living requires me to be exceptional with numbers.
rhyis is right btw
them saying they eat 21 mil only applies to this year
sorry im late i picked up madden 21 because it was on sale and i just lost to the cowboys and i haven’t been this mad in a while
also I’ll get the playoff thread up tomorrow
I mean, he is also wrong lol. He said he can't be traded even if he wants to be, and he absolutely can. That is the entire reason I posted what every site is saying. Trade for a rookie contract QB and a bunch of picks. The following years' amounts are negligible.
Is it possible they could end up saving money by trading him, after year 1? I don't keep up with rookie pay scale. I imagine even with the hit, they could. If he really doesn't want to be there and play for them, he won't be.
no it was 3 fumbles
mad
2nd overall, 34th overall, and Darnold. That enough for Watson?
I think the team that can realistically make their front office happy is Miami. Tua + 3rd overall + following year’s first. Doubt they would consider less. If they didn’t have Tunsil, that Jets trade could get conversations started, since they would end up with that tackle. Can he play RT or maybe Tunsil could move? I dunno. Feels like Darnold’s trade value is extremely low.
Watson is among the 2 most valuable players in the entire league and the new Texans GM cannot afford a Bob-level trade to kick things off. It would need to be a haul.
