I feel like you just repeated the same thing again lol. And no, that isn't my argument at all. I thought I made it clear in the last post.

I'm asking if spending months on a trial will preclude Congress from convening and voting on actual value-add matters, like a stimulus bill

I.E., can they say "we won't be able to convene on the stimulus bill for another month because we're busy with this impeachment trial" - and of course beyond saying it, can they actually do it

They voted to allow witnesses, and not even an afternoon later decided to not even call any. Such a self goal. Fucking retarded ass leadership and they're banking on doing enough to make people forget about this. We won't, and I pray to God leadership is primaried.

Aren't all of the jury also witnesses. Some of the jury and witnesses are also openly working with the defense team.

What do I want? I want witnesses on the stand telling the public, under oath, what the president knew and when he knew it. I think there's value in that.

What I think there's weakness in is calling for a vote to allow witnesses and then being like "oh you gonna filibuster us? Aight NVM". This also throws cold water on them removing the filibuster, which means basically nothing legislative is getting done after covid relief cause why would the GOP not obstruct like they did to Obama for 8 years.

Yeah it became a farce when Dems spent a month crying about insurrection incited by a POTUS and then turned around and chose to not even call witnesses to that fact. If they won't even go through the process to offer witness testimony for their case, why make us go through this at all?

They didn't make their base happy by this half assed attempt, and they already aren't going to win over trump voters. It was just a stupid decision that so far reporting seems to indicate they only did so they didn't have to kill the filibuster later when the GOP went full obstructionist mode...which they're going to do anyways.
