The rise of right wing populism in countries with stronger socialist tendencies and the existence of corruption, racism, and nationalism in non-white countries (including those with a history of colonialism) prove that the problem is people. Government works best in places with strong institutions that can resist the corruptive influence of dumb people controlled by the charismatic who offer easy solutions (scapegoats) for their ressentiment.

I mean this is what I was pointing out: the fact we blame shit on white people in America is just because white people have historically been in power. In other regions of the world, blame can almost always be traced back to those in power using that power for their own benefit at the cost of someone else, e.g. in Asia you can blame the empire (East) Asians for the problem of the colonized (Southeast) Asians.

I would rather just keep blaming white people since it captures >90% of both the people in power perpetuating the problem as well as probably >95% of the people voting for said people
