It is deeper than that. He was writing about the glory of living an agrarian life close to nature at a time when >60% of the US workforce were farmers / we were in the middle of of our native american extermination phase and his out of touch Bostonian friends thought it was a fresh take.

That said, it *was* a fresh take among the ruling class and his excessive longtermism would have given us a very different 21st century.

The internet is very much real life. Not like your actions on here exist in a vacuum and are detached from who you are as an actual person. If anything the anonymity that people think they get from the internet allows them to live as their true selves.
