When you predicate an entire campaign in both branches of government on stopping the GOP and moving the country forward, get the best turnout among young people ever, then fuck them over like this... yeah they aren't going to vote anymore.

Biden being president has stoped the GOP. The Senate being split has stopped the GOP. The Democrats only control the Senate by virtue of a tie breaking vote. The reality is, Manchin has a lot of power being the crucial 50th vote and he is not running for reelection which limits what kind of pressure the Democrats can exert on him. Meanwhile, Biden has signed a flurry of executive orders that you may have missed. For example:

* USA is back in the Paris Climate Accords
* Stopped Keystone XL Pipeline
* Extended the rent moritorium
* Extended student-loan pause
* Preserved DACA
* Reversed Muslim travel ban
* Stopped construction on the Trump Wall
* Repealed the ban on Transgendered individuals serving in the military

Everyone here jokes about incrementalism but ya’ll really need a reality check. The Democrats are indeed losers and milquetoast shitheads and everything else you think of them but they are still infinitely better than the GOP. They are actually trying to pass a stimulus bill to help the country and it is in the GOP’s best interest to rat fuck them at every turn. They have only the barest of majorities in the House and virtually no room for error in the Senate. Did you forget that the Dems can only pass this current bill due to reconciliation because the filibuster still exists? And that Manchin and Sinema refuse to undo it means the nuke option is off the table. So with Democrats working with all these limitations - they are still on track to pass their stimulus bill but you see it as a huge compromise, breaking their promises and expose phony Dems for corrupt fucks they are. This is just the most ridicilous line of thinking ever.

I already see people on Reddit saying they are going to go back to not voting or voting 3rd party in 2022 because the Dems are shitty libs and aren't curing cancer fast enough. I cannot even begin to explain how fucking self-defeating this stupid notion is. If you want the Dems to be able to pass more progressive legislation or just be able to get rid of the filibuster, vote more of them in instead of throwing your vote away on a 3rd party or not voting at all. We can’t make any progress if every 2 or 4 years we give control of Congress back to the GOP.

No right leaning person needs to care, it just has to energize left-leaning people to do something. Right leaning people are a minority kept viable by an extremely gerrymandered House and a Senate that gives 14 Senators to states with less combined population than another state that gets 2. Going after right-leaning voters is a mistake Democrats need to stop making.

Sometimes I have to wonder, if it's possible to fund relocation from safe blue states to borderline purple states, or even outright outnumber low population red states.

Like, how many people would you need at minimum, then probably with a margin of safety as well.
Then what would it cost to move them, from simple relocation with remote/movable jobs, to as far as just building new cities focusing on desirable amenities if the location doesn't support them already.
