I actually worked a bar briefly and was supposed to check id's. No one told me how to identify fakes either.

the first time i worked as a waiter it was in a college town, the first time i id’d someone it was two college-age students who were on a date. they handed me their IDs and i looked at them for like 10 seconds going “where the fuck is the DOB on this” because I never bothered looking at an ID before. i gave up and served them

they tipped me 40 bucks on a $60 bill so im pretty sure they weren’t 21

11 dollars is a hella good raise for many states, i think national amount of 15 is kind of dumb anyways as it obviously isnt factoring any kind of cost of living etc
