In many ways it should pay for itself. People in poverty are basically non-participants in the economy and an active drain on GDP

But you know, socialism is the devil, can't have handouts, etc. Doesn't matter if the raising tide lifts all boats.

House passes the American Recovery Act 220-211, 1 Dem against (Jared Golden, upstate Maine district 2 that Trump won by 7 points), 0 Republicans for. Heading to Biden's desk.
So I’m not getting any Biden bucks but the child tax credit should go up like a grand when I go file for taxes? Someone explain it to me like I’m five.
Sweet, finally gonna file my taxes now.

Er, wait, are you married or single?
Married with one child.
I think your kid is under six so if your AGI is over 180k (and under 400k) you'll get the regular 2k at tax time. If it's under 180k (or, more precisely if it was under 180k in 2020) you'll get monthly payments starting in July through the end of the year totalling 50% of the CTC you are owed, and you'll get the rest when you file 2021 taxes.
this dude household income is 200k and he's getting child tax credits the world is fuckin sick
i dont think these are the children in poverty but what do i know
Should note that a family of 4 in the SF Bay area are considered qualified for low income housing if their AGI was $110k.
Probably changed lower due to Covid though
