You can be tried for felony murder even if the person who dies during your felony is an accomplice and their death would not normally result in a murder trial (the classic example they give in law school is if you are robbing a bank and a security officer or a policeman shoot one of your crew). They were all possibly up for felony murder once that woman died trying to jump the window.
