This would probably be the best plan. Trumpies seem to be planning something for inauguration day, why risk it. Use covid as a legitimate veil, promote it as setting a pristine example of encouraging social distancing. The only people who will dislike it and call it a showing of weakness are people who didnt vote for Biden, who think covid is a hoax, that masks do nothing, etc etc, and wouldnt be swayed by him anyways, so not much loss there.

I'm thinking Trump going on a pardon spree is one of the reasons some of these guys felt they could do this without getting put in jail. Knowing he is gone on the 20th, I feel these people (As dumb as they fucking are) won't do some of this stuff knowing Big Orange isn't going to save them. Shit, some of them watch people they rioted with put in jail, which I think will be a wake-up call. By wake up call I mean there could be real consequences to their actions, not that Trump wouldn't lift a finger to help them.
