No reason for "bipartisanship" if the Rs aren't oking anything the Ds can't get through reconciliation.
Would most certainly cost them control.
lot of balls in the air. enough Repubs are on board with some kind of stimulus, even a large stimulus, that clearly a bipartisan bill could be passed if the will is there. that said there's $1.2 trillion of daylight separating the initial positions (though negotiations are ongoing as we speak). and as Arch says reconciliation could see a more expansive bill hammered through, but that would likely cost the Dems any chance of further Republican cooperation, presupposes the Manchins of the party are gonna be on-board which is far from a certainty (especially with a bipartisan bill being dangled), and would be a blow to a White House that desperately wants to end at least some of the rancorous partisanship that has defined the past two administrations.
There aren't 10 Republicans interested in good faith negotiations, this is a delay tactic only aimed at trimming the sails of the Biden administration.
My Republican House rep, Peter Meijer, is deadass out here Tweeting Rick and Morty memes to push back against notorious racist/Holocaust denier Nick Fuentes and his groyper trolls. Politics are so fucking weird now.

no idea. my first payment took forever, too. that eventually came through with direct deposit.
i was expecting the same thing this time around, but when i go the IRS get my payments link i get
"Payment #2 Status - Not Available
We are unable to provide the status of your payment right now because:
We don't have enough information yet (we're working on this), or
You're not eligible for a payment."
i wouldn't see why i might be ineligible for the 2nd after getting the first, if that were the case so yeah, i dunno.
The $600 phases out starting at 75k of 2019 income, phases out completely at 87k.
weird, my mum made 78k and got blanked on the $600
maybe it will still come or at least be accounted for in this tax filing
Didn't they have some 'behind closed doors' GOP meeting with her to deal with her behavior? I'm guessing it didn't go well
nah, they had the votes back when Trump floated it. Sasse, Rubio, Romney et al were on board with more stimulus and shipping out checks. McConnell, of course, blocked it as a fuck you to both Dem and moderate rhino and failed presidential candidate. and frankly the double-loss in Georgia has more than one Republican running scared atm.
I wonder who was dragging out that meeting taking place, they've been taking heat on her since Thursday.
Yea, you can't control a fucking psycho. She isn't like Ted, who just attaches himself to the movement he thinks will get him the most votes and quickly changes when needed. She truly believes what she is saying, and thinks everyone else is wrong. I learned a long time ago that there is no hope in bring someone at that level back to reality.
i learned that from posting on BG
