Yes, he wants to replace the child tax credit with a much more generous child allowance. That's good policy.

The SALT deduction (which I personally benefit from a lot) is also shitty policy, very regressive.

So I have some questions for anyone around here who is more politically wise than myself. Basically how can we tell if parties are properly vetting their nominees? At what stage does the vetting process take place? I have been following any Democrat announcing a 2022 campaign I can find, but these people are totally random strangers from states I'm not familiar with. Eventually when the 2022 mid-terms approach will they be vetted to ensure there's high-quality candidates that won't wind up being a disgrace later on? Frankly I've never followed politics quite this closely before. Usually I read the candidate platform websites for a candidate, go vote in the mid-terms, then disengage again but after this year where democracy was almost murdered I'm feeling hyper engaged with new candidates.
