Again
It's more expensive for society to maintain child poverty than to provide broad cash transfers to lower and middle class parents. (which is why most developed nations already do it and why the child poverty rate in America has been so persistently high)
again
i dont have a problem with my money going to people who need it
When you are dealing with a country with hundreds of millions of people and millions of kids no system is going to be 100% perfect EVER. And throwing away an entire system that will help millions of kids out of poverty just because a couple hundred thousand get some extra cash they could have survived without is a stupid way to run a country.
GOP Rep Ron Wright of Texas has died of a cancer-COVID combo.

are 150k households on welfare lol
Given that you cannot create a system that perfectly hits exactly who it needs and not anyone who "doesn't need it" if you are going to whine about the occasional situation where the wrong people get help then yeah there isn't much of another alternative. Or are we listening not fixing?
Are you just complaining about it to complain?
im just giving my opinion on the salary phasing on a forum yes, hope that is ok with you
siri what is an internet forum for
Likewise what is a forum for if it isn't for a back and forth discourse. I am responding to your opinion by explaining why it doesn't work the way you want it to in the real world. And no social system ever will.
no you are putting words in my mouth and building strawmans, saying that things either have to be the way they are or completely thrown away since the system can never be perfect. obviously we can do phasing since we already are, i disagree with others that we couldn't better target those that actually need it
just because someone has kids doesn't mean they magically are in need of money, especially from a system that those less fortunate are paying into, pretty apparent from even just knowing posters on this forum
