I want this game to be good man, I really really do.
Ubisoft invited streamers from across the globe to their various regional offices to play four-hours, in slices, of the game. They were allowed to record their own gameplay, but only in 1080p and major story spoilers had to be left out. Overall, most of them like the game, but the mechanics are dated, the facial animations are bad outside of prerendered cut scenes, and the ship combat doesn't feel fluid. It's recommend to play if you're a Star Wars fan, but not to buy at launch.
Spoiler: show
Is the main character supposed to be an alien? I just dont understand who approved the face design. its a shame they didnt even have a basic character creator for a game like this.
apparently there's a recent trend of AAA companies making female characters physically unappealing on purpose, some company called sweet baby inc has apparently been swooping in to implement DEI initiatives into games and apparently the internet is up in flames about it, I'm all for diversity and such but if they ARE making female characters ugly on purpose then I don't even see what point it serves tbh.
lol...
Sweet Baby isn't credited as working on this game but do go on
You’re right, they didn’t, now quote where I said they did? Someone commented on the way the MC looks like an alien, which is apparently a common complaint with the game considering the real life person she’s based on doesn't look like that.
I then pointed out the recent controversy that’s been showing up on my youtube feeds for reasons I can’t understand considering I spend like 90% of my time on youtube playing music in the background while doing other shit.
I mean its a fact that DEI is big issue beyond just games but my issue is just with the design on the face its not about her being ugly, she is not ugly but the proportions on her face at certain angles are just weird af. I appreciate the details like she had a broken nose etc. But things like for example her eyes are too small for a head etc, just makes her look not human at times, which makes it hard to connect with the character and directly opposes inclusion and representation. Maybe the character beyond physicality does this better. Just sayin lol
epic gamer moment
For me, the character design has no bearing. (even if it is horrible)
I see Ubisoft, I stay away from it. Simple as. No matter how much media is trying to push this game and saying it's "a great ubisoft game, not like all their other games!" I will not buy it. They have shitty business practices and price gauge the shit out of the consumer while keeping a straight face.
If this ever goes to bargain bin prices, I might check it out. I'm sure it'll have Denuvo, but if it gets cracked, I'll check it out via the high seas.
Never buy an Ubisoft game at launch. Usually within a year you can buy the complete edition for less than half the price.
Wukong comes out on the 20th? thats what ill be playing but will keep my eye on this.
