i had to be heavily talked into 401k and our company offers matching, i had know idea wtf the hr lady was on about. i also cashed something out one time that got taxed all to fuck against the pleading of hr and she even brought in an accountant lol i was like naw i'll just take the cash >.<

If it makes you feel better, i did grow up in section 8 housing living with crackheads. I tend to only spend money on things I can enjoy long-term (PC's, TV, Home projects, etc). I don't go balling out every night and get new cars for no reason.

I actually have this same mindset and my wife has the opposite. Vacations are always an argument.

I've moved about 40% of my entire portfolio into yield farms for SUSHI and yield farms for RAY. Trying to minimize my trading while maximizing passive gains.

Also, I'm going to see if I can set up an ADA pool but it's more marketing than technical expertise.

Holy shit, our last vacation was around 12k. We had many MANY arguments about how I felt it was so fucking wasteful and just didn't make sense. We ended up going, and of course, I had a good time, but it was so fucking hard for me to do it knowing how much it was costing. That shit and her LOVE for lululemon always get me. There is a silver fucking bag on our doorstep at least 3 times a week. Knowing each one of those is at least 100 bucks always bothers me (I get over it when she wears those leggings tho... fuck they make asses pop).

I just prefer stuff that I can enjoy every day over stuff that is temporary retreat. Seems like it has better value idk. I do always enjoy vacations though but getting me to go on one is like pulling teeth.

I did Europe (solo) on only $1600-1800 and even that made me feel very uncomfortable as a YOLO treat

We did an all inclusive 5 star adult only at one of the 5 best places in mexico a few years back with airfare included for 3300. Opened a travel card for it and got 300 back instantly + points. Playa mujeres right in between cancun and playa del carmen. To this day one of the best trips I've ever been on, all inclusive adult only wasted in the pool all day was great. Just read books on the beach other days.

I'll go back to paris in a heartbeat and still want to retire to Nice but that was around 7-8k for the honeymoon. We did do two airbnb's though and only did a real hotel for the first part of the honeymoon.

10k+ for a vacation seems outrageous to me without kids.

Its a super nice, but shady as fuck, place. One trip, we were hanging with this white dude from ATL the entire time that lived there, good connection and what not. After like 5 days he tells us why he was there: "murder, left the US". And he was dead ass 100% serious.

Tried looking into it, any specific resort y'all recommend? We did an all inclusive in DR and fell in love with the lack of stress of having to do anything except relax and get free drinks. It was like a cruise but without the boat bullshit lol
