If you weren’t interested before this happened this man is correct. If GameStop is what peaked your interest, you probably aren’t going to have a good time and will approach the market with unrealistic expectations.
None of what’s going on should be considered investing in any traditional manner and is nowhere near the spirit of the intended market.
I understand this isn't the norm. I'm not so naive to think that I'm going to be making a 200% return in 3 days on everything I do. I was more interested in long-term investments. But I also trust Zet.
Yeah my portfolio before this is 100% stocks that I have no intention of looking at for 20 years and it's a dramatic day if they go up $1.

the pearl clutching is fun to watch
An easy way to get started is with stock slices, Charles Schwab lets you do this. Find some stocks you like that you don't think are going anywhere, like I put in on AMT, APL, CAT, and a few others. Just put in a few dollars at a time (I do like $200 a paycheck) spread across 5 or 6 and gradually you'll build up full shares and then multiple shares, so on and so forth. When you get to 100 (completely arbitrary number, ignore me) shares, leave that one alone and add another stock.
Or don't, I'm not in finance.

You'd be surprised what the guy who has to fix computers can overhear when having to fix a computer during a high level meeting, or for someone who is listening to/was in the high level meeting and talked about it.
Having said that I can believe the Sequoia part but not the White House, not at this stage and I doubt they start at such a low level.
AMC and GME had massive spikes @ 205-210.
Honestly probably better off just investing in an index fund. Especially if you're playing it long / saving for retirement. (edit: and obviously use tax advantaged accounts before a brokerage account...)
That said, I already do that, and am starting to play around on my Schwab account with some individual stocks. I'll probably lose money, but no risk no reward! (Not that I'm ever going to put enough in here to get a worthwhile reward lol)
a few dollars is 200 dollars to zealot
