To which Liberals always advocate getting a new job because it's just your fault, of course. When they call a ditch digger or babysitter or teacher or order food. That person is shit and did it to themselves so they should suffer, but hey they could always get a "real job".
Now, you didn't ask me how my day was when I was handed my food into this white Range Rover that has never been off road. Can I speak to your manager about that?

Meanwhile, the investor class looks at the reports and goes "woah look how low unemployment is! Look at wage growth! This is good news!"

Quite the take. I think it's conservatives that do this, but I digress because I'd rather not engage.

The question in my mind is never how the many are doing, but how the few are. They're the ones that over time can cause the most damage when the tide shifts.

The biggest disconnect is that upper income / college graduate / people whose opinions drive news cycles / etc genuinely have lost purchasing power on average as their wages haven't kept up with inflation (very much including my family, partially offset by my housing costs not increasing whatsoever because of the glory of the 30 year fixed-rate mortgage), but the average earner, and especially the low-wage worker, have on average made considerable gains. This reduction in inequality and growth of lower class standard of living is the type of thing most putative leftists claim to desire, but because most putative leftists are downwardly mobile college grads their continued doomspiraling is actually about their own position, not about the "working class" they claim to care the most about.

If working class folks are doing better, that's great.

One of the weaker jobs reports lately, but unemployment still ticked down a hair for good reasons.

"Considerable gains", but what does that eben mean? With savings rate well below the long term average. Credit card debt at a record high. Which is second only to mortgage debt on houses many can't afford to move out of or even into in the first place. Coupled with a lack of health care let alone affordable health care even for those who have it or are forced to buy it. So on and so forth, but sure people who live at an alarming rate of food insecurity or lack of any sufficient emergency fund. They are doing great. Look at the gains of the working class!

It's baffling to keep hearing how great people are doing.

Servers: PAY US A LIVABLE WAGE
Customers: PAY YOUR SERVERS A LIVABLE WAGE STOP RELYING ON US TO PAY THEM
Casa Bonita: Ok, heres $30/hr, but theres a no tipping policy
Servers: OMG WHY DID YOU REMOVE TIPPING

FYI $30/hr is over double minimum wage in Colorado ($13.65 according to google)

The only servers I see complaining are the ones who get larger sections and prime hours. They can fuck off

With tips, working a small Italian restaurant almost a decade ago, I was averaging a little less than that per hour in Florida. Thing is, that's after tipping out the bus boys and dishwashers with my own tip money; the justification from ownership being that if that staff weren't helping me then I'd have to do the work and I'd flip tables slower and make less money. This is a very common practice. Without that, I'd make 35+/hr easy, and that's in cash so you aren't paying taxes on it.

It really depends on the circumstances. If they get $30/hr on paper and still have to tip out the help, I'd be pissed too, but y'all don't care about nuance
