I have Kaiser near DC and it is basically great...

Kaiser is the embodiment of its either great, or shit.

My primary is great, though a bit conservative on medication, and my hearing doctor is amazing with my menieres disease.

Yet had to go to ER back in 2020 when I fell and cracked my head on the wall and landed on my shoulder.

Doctor wanted me to get a ct scan and X-ray on the shoulder. ER doctor refused the X-ray saying it was just a deep tissue injury.

I've found Kaiser to be very hit or miss: I've heard the horror stories.

Have a decent GP. Some specialists have been a bit off, then I get switched to one who knows their stuff. More better experiences than bad, but still a roll of the dice.

it's a huge insurance and hospital system, with everything that goes with it. my care's been great, right up until i have to see a specialist for anything. they won't communicate with each other or my PC; i'm expected to tell one doc what another doc wants, like delivering notes between divorcing parents. it's really fucking irritating and shit gets missed or glossed over all the time.

working for them is a whole other ballgame though. it's a miserable and often frustrating experience, but i cry all the way to the bank. a friend of mine that retired calls Kaiser the golden handcuffs. you want to be free of the dumbfuckery, but you just can't quite give up the money.

The only annoying thing with Kaiser is when I go to buy non prescriptions meds with my FSA card, I have to pay by debit and get a reimbursement.

For some reason, their system can't handle it. Yet I can go to fucking Walmart, buy a bunch of shit, swipe my FSA card and it charges just the FSA eligible items, then pay my normal means for everything else. It's so ass backwards

Oh, my GP is horrible. I went in for a cold that might have been becoming pneumonia. GP was 45 minutes late to the appointment (first of the day), it was <10 minutes, and he charged both the annual and a upper respiratory visit. He ordered all the tests for the annual and forgot to order the COVID / strep test that I actually went for, but did order a chest X-ray.

Now why do I say it is great? Two hours later I still had all the tests done including the ones he forgot. Imagine if I had to go to aqwest twice or some shit. Kill me.

I basically don't need the opinion of doctors like 90% of the time. I need the results of tests and prescriptions. Kaiser centralizing all of that is great...

You said "Economy great yay, inflation down." I said "when will it affect prices of goods and services" you said "it shouldn't and won't otherwise we fucked" I said "then who cares about those metrics if they don't help 99% of people in this country".

Prices can and should go back down. I am not talking return to early 1900's pricing but fluctuating prices were the reality and prices should come back down. They have risen rapidly in the last 3-4 years and if they come back down by a certain percentage of what they went up then it won't cause disaster but it would be a measurable help to most people. The issue is that everyone is behind. Wages haven't kept up and in the years it will take to catch up if prices stay the same some other disaster will cause prices to go up more so the majority of people are constantly behind constantly chasing that break even point where they are increasing their disposable income and spending power rather than just trying to break even against inflation.
