They left out the 20,000+ jobs cut by various tech companies "because AI and need to remain competitive" but numbers are numbers. If you add 400,000 and cut 30,000 you still added 370,000.

kinda shocked there haven't been larger layoffs. i would say the hiring arms race between major tech firms for the last 10 years has left them at about 30-40% overstaffed.

My firm specializes in multi family housing and is really struggling right now. However, other firms with more diverse portfolios are thriving, especially in the hospitality and infrastructure fields. I may have to pivot soon (our salaries got frozen these past 2 quarters, my annual review is up this month).
