When the great wealth transfer occurs, how much of a cut will all the lawyers get? 5%?

I'm already expecting that when my dad dies and everything goes through the probate referee and all the other court/lawyer fees. If not more than 7%

I'm not giving corporations a free pass; it's simply the nature of supply and demand. As I mentioned before, this isn't about depriving people of their basic needs or suggesting they live on just chicken and rice. It's about those who hit up fast-food joints twice a day and then complain on Facebook about blowing $100 on chips and cookies.

If you're going to splurge on junk, then stop whining.

Complain all you want about real necessities like food, cars, and home prices.

to that end i believe it was the Chipotle CFO who straight up said he was suprised but happy to note that higher prices affected no observable change in consumer demand

I think they changed that line in WotL, truly the translators failed to gauge the temperature of the fan base.

Yup and it's horrible. The "fixed" translations is part of the reason I could never fully love WotL. It goes

"Perhaps this is the Lord's will...Take it up with Him"

    Wut

All companies do this. This is the most Sid Vicious of takes to think that only "unnecessary products" are gouged.

Food, dining prices are at the highest levels since early 90's in terms of % of disposable income. Yabby's got a point, prices remain high because demand remains high. WSJ analyzed this customer behavior a while ago, apparently people just don't want to admit to their social circle or to themselves that they are no longer able to afford the luxuries they've previously enjoyed. Post-COVID YOLO, wealth transfer from earlier generations also play a critical role.

As a result, we've got more people living paycheck to paycheck than ever.

...and corporations relentlessly exploit this behavior. It'll only get worse until consumers decide to use their strongest weapon, demand.
